The Deira Clocktower roundabout is now being developed, according to a Friday announcement from Dubai Municipality. The roundabout will be renovated as part of the project to enhance its visual appeal by including hard flooring with vegetation and colourful lights as well as modernising the water fountain's design.
The initiative demonstrates the Municipality's dedication to using all its resources to assist sustainable urban development that complies with Dubai's ambitious aspirations for urban and economic growth.
The ancient structure of the Clocktower roundabout will be preserved by Dubai Municipality without compromising its historical or architectural value, and it will be updated to fit Dubai's concept.
One of the most beautiful clock towers on earth, the Deira Clocktower Roundabout is an important historical and architectural monument. The 1963 clocktower, which is situated at one of Dubai's most crucial intersections, Umm Hurair Street and Al Maktoum Street, occupies a major place in history as it was the first land crossing between Deira and Bur Dubai. It served as the first point of intersection for the major roads leading to Dubai before the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Road was built.
