This weekend, golf fans may witness some of the top players in the game compete at the Majils Course at Emirates Golf Club as the Hero Dubai Desert Classic returns on Thursday, January 18.
The fan village this year will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a tonne of live entertainment to keep everyone occupied during the day. With roving performers like magicians and graffiti artists floating throughout the course, the tournament's organisers, Falcon and Associates, want to make the three-day competition an enjoyable family outing.
For almost thirty years, the Hero Dubai Desert Classic has drawn some of the world's top players to the gulf. The event this year is scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 18, and conclude on Sunday, January 21.
Golf enthusiasts who do not have a ticket for the main event can still participate in the festivities by entering the tournament town for free. However, those who are planning to go should get ready to have fun with the retro-vintage dress code since the best-dressed guests will win prizes on Saturday.
Prizes for the most renowned 1940s to 1990s ensembles include concert tickets and hospitality passes valued at over Dhs5,000.
Golf enthusiasts will get the opportunity to practise their swing with some of the newest Callaway equipment at the village.
There are still some limited free tickets available; use the app to reserve one. Since parking is restricted, use the metro if you can; Al Khail is the station that is closest to the event.
