The Civil Defence Authority of Abu Dhabi has set stiff penalties for building owners who neglect to install smart systems.
Those who fail to install smart systems in buildings that need them will be subject to a Dh10,000 fine.
The decision is contained in Cabinet Resolution No. 24 of 2012, which governs the state's civil defence services.
