NewsThe cutting-edge Green bus service in Abu Dhabi will begin operating today, according to the transport administration. The Department of Municipalities and Transport's Integrated Transport Center (Abu Dhabi Mobility) states that these buses are propelled by clean hydrogen and electric energy.
The program represents a major turning point in the Green Bus Programme, created by Abu Dhabi Mobility, which aims to make Abu Dhabi Island a green zone for public transportation by 2030.
The new Green Bus service will run on Route 65 in Al Reem Island, between Marina Mall and Shams Boutik.
The Abu Dhabi program is a thorough plan to evaluate and oversee the emirate's public transportation buses. Its goal is to assess and choose the best hydrogen and electric power technologies and solutions, then make these available to commuters, tourists, and capital inhabitants.
Bus manufacturers and international government agencies will work together to accomplish this. The program has been modified to better suit the local setting.
It also involves providing opportunities for hands-on training in South Korea and the People's Republic of China, as well as specialized training programs in hydrogen and electric bus technology to advance and improve Emirati skills and knowledge.
The Green Bus Program's evaluation term, which began in November 2023, is scheduled to end in June 2025. Bus operators, including drivers, will take part in theoretical and hands-on training sessions given by Abu Dhabi Mobility's partners for the Green Buses during this period. To make sure they have the tools necessary to carry out routine maintenance and inspections, certified technicians will also continue their education.
