For the first time this year, visitors to Global Village will have the opportunity to participate in an event honoring the Emirati custom of Hag Al Laila. A highly ingrained Emirati social custom, Hag Al Laila, also called Qargian, is celebrated on the fifteenth night of Sha'ban, which falls on Thursday, February 13th this year. Observing the approaching holy month of Ramadan is part of it.
Global Village will host a number of cultural and interactive events for families and kids from February 13 to February 16 to promote ideals of charity and social solidarity and to highlight folklore traditions.
Meet-and-greets with "The Nomads" characters in Global Village, interactive workshops, traditional performances, and the distribution of traditional sweets are all part of the event, which will take place between the Main Stage and the Dragon Lake.
Palm fronds, lanterns, and traditional seating spaces are just a few of the Emirati-inspired decorations that will be used around the site.
