Global aerospace engineering and leasing solutions leader- Sanad has announced the inauguration of its MRO Centre in Abudhabi

Abu Dhabi has opened the first certified engine maintenance and repair shop in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. The Leap Engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Centre of Sanad, the leading worldwide provider of aerospace engineering and leasing solutions, has opened. Sanad is fully owned by Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), the sovereign investor of Abu Dhabi.

This world-class centre, which occupies more than 5,000 square metres, will provide cutting-edge technical skills inside Sanad's brand-new, cutting-edge facility in Abu Dhabi and join the global Leap MRO network. The news comes after a historic 11-year shop visit offload agreement was signed in collaboration with GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, two of the industry's top suppliers of jet engines, parts, and aircraft systems, during the Paris Air Show in June 2023.

Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX family aircraft powered by new-generation CFM International Leap-1A and -1B engines are now part of Sanad's greatly expanded MRO services thanks to the agreement. Due to their outstanding fuel efficiency and dependability, these engines have become well-known across the world.

During an Abu Dhabi event, Sanad launched the facility, showcasing the first Leap engine introduced in record time and launching the Leap engine maintenance scheme. The facility started operating a month after the deal was signed, and in just four months, it successfully finished the MRO procedure on the first Leap engine from flydubai. The facility is going to receive more than 450 Leap engines for maintenance and repairs.

Sanad has significantly improved its Abu Dhabi facilities with an expenditure surpassing Dh100 million. These enhancements, which are aimed at bolstering the business's engine maintenance and repair capabilities, centre on cutting-edge equipment, facilities, and technology.
