Although summer is approaching, it's never too late to experience winter when the DXB Snow Run makes a comeback on the frigid slopes of Ski Dubai on May 21.
The DXB Snow Run, which was first held in 2020 after the Covid-19 limitations and is currently in its fourth iteration, has been hailed as the "coolest race to beat the summer heat." Along with encouraging a fit and active lifestyle among locals and tourists, it also aims to "foster a winter sports culture throughout the region and nurture emerging snow sports athletes."
The organisers, Dubai Sports Council and Ski Dubai, provided information about the forthcoming DXB Snow Run during a press conference on Wednesday at Snow Cinema.
The well-known indoor ski area will change into a chilly racetrack. On Sunday, May 21, DXB Snow Run will begin at 6.30 a.m. All runners between the ages of 15 and 70 are welcome to compete in the 3 km (three loops around Ski Dubai) or 5 km (five laps around Ski Dubai) racecourses, which are both held at a bone-chilling -4 degrees Celsius.
It may get steamy during the DXB Snow Run because it entails climbing an elevation ski slope, thus it is advisable that everyone bring a change of clothing for after the event.
Registration for the race is available for a fee via the official website.
