Flydubai to receive seven aircraft and is to hire more than 130 new pilots by the end of this year

By the end of this year, Flydubai plans to hire around 130 new pilots, and it will get seven aircraft by the end of 2024. The airline stated in a statement on Tuesday that Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius will now be part of the network, which will be further supported by the new aircraft.

Flydubai's chief executive officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith, stated that Flydubai has expanded to employ more than 5,800 highly qualified individuals from 140 different countries, more than 1,200 of them are pilots. By the year end, FlyDubai plans to have hired over 130 additional pilots.

Al Ghaith stated that the airline has more than 440 workers this year, a 6% increase from the previous one. According to him, there is a continuous recruitment drive to bolster the team with more talented and competent employees and foster the expansion of the business. He emphasized Flydubai's continued ability to draw in young Emirati talent and their dedication to hiring locals and advancing Emiratization initiatives by assigning them to appropriate positions in a range of business divisions.

A significant milestone in the airline's history was seen in 2023 when Flydubai placed its first-ever wide-body order for 30 Boeing 787-9s at the Dubai Airshow.
