The Dubai Reef project, introduced at Cop28, aims to enhance marine biodiversity and promote eco-tourism.
On Saturday, November 23, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, attended the significant unveiling of this transformative initiative.
The Dubai Reef initiative is a vital step in increasing fish stocks, fostering sustainable fishing practices, and strengthening food security in the region.
Once completed, the project will cover 600 square kilometres, making it one of the world’s most extensive marine reef developments. With over 400,000 cubic metres in volume, this ambitious plan reflects Dubai’s dedication to environmental conservation and biodiversity promotion.
