First Ghayathi Falcon Championship 2024 will be held in Abu Dhabi from January 6 to 10

EventThe First Ghayathi Falcon Championship 2024 got underway in Abu Dhabi, on Saturday. The event which runs until January 10, honours the age-old sport of falconry, which is fundamental to the social and cultural history of the nation. Under the support of the government of the country, the tournament brings together some of the most renowned falconers and specialists in the field.
The tournament, which is being held in Ghayathi, Al Dhafra Region, is attended by a select group of professionals and falcon owners. There are eighteen rounds in the tournament: four for gear owners (Gear Shaheen, Gear Pure, Gear Qarmousha, and Gear Taba) and four for the group of gear owners (Gernas owners). Eight rounds are also included in the competition for the professional division in chicks and gernas.
On the final day, there will be two rounds of the Ghayathi Cup: one for the owners category, where the top three finishers in each owners round compete, and another for the professionals category, where the top three finishers in each professional round compete.
Sponsored by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Liwa Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Falconers Club, Al Dhafra Region Municipality, and Abu Dhabi Police, the inaugural Ghayathi Falcons Championship is being held under the auspices of the Ruler's Representative Court in Al Dhafra Region.
