On Monday, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi said that the PublisHer Excellence Awards would be given to exceptional female publishers who have significantly improved the sector. Speaking at the Sharjah Publishers Conference before the Sharjah International Book Fair, the creator of Kalimat Group and PublisHer stated that the awards were essential to the company's goal of empowering female publishers to assume leadership roles and celebrate their accomplishments.
Three categories will see the prizes presented: A pioneering publishing maven with a minimum of 20 years of experience who has had a major and long-lasting influence on the sector is eligible for the Lifetime Achievement Award. Emerging Leader Award for a young, up-and-coming publisher (35 years or less) who has shown remarkable leadership, vision, and the ability to effect good change.
An Innovation Award is given to a woman who has made a creative contribution to the publishing sector through marketing campaigns, editorial leadership, management techniques, corporate culture, storytelling, and content curation, among other things.
