EV charging stations will be built at multiple locations to cover commercial and residential areas in Sharjah

Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be constructed in a number of sites to service both residential and commercial sectors, according to officials. They also highlighted a few key themes from the most recent meeting of the emirate's Executive Council.

Authorities in the UAE have been developing infrastructure and amenities to increase drivers' convenience while using environmentally friendly EVs. 

While certain areas allow free-of-cost charging, officials recently established a UAE-wide strategy to standardise pricing. According to a new pricing schedule, service providers have to charge Dh1.20 plus VAT per kWh for "express" charging services and Dh0.70 plus VAT per kWh for "slow" charging services.
