Etihad Rail unveiled the first high-speed, all-electric passenger train connecting Abu Dhabi and Dubai

The first high-speed, all-electric passenger train between Abu Dhabi and Dubai was unveiled by Etihad Rail on Thursday. It is anticipated that the high-speed train will take 30 minutes to travel between the two emirates. Additionally, a regular passenger train will be introduced.

The 350 kmph high-speed train will travel via six stops, including those on Reem Island, Saadiyat, Yas Island, Zayed International Airport, and the vicinity of Al Maktoum International Airport and the Al Jaddaf neighborhood of Dubai.

After the tenders are completed, the fast-speed train and the associated infrastructure will be constructed. The chief projects officer of Etihad Rail, Mohammed Al Shehhi, stated at the Abu Dhabi media briefing that there is currently no expected time of completion.

The UAE's GDP is predicted to increase by Dh145 billion over the next 50 years as a result of the high-speed rail.

The passenger train will run at regular speed between all of the emirates. It has a 200 kmph top speed and can hold 400 passengers. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah will be its four stations, and it will share the same rail as the cargo trains.
