Etihad Airways announces a network overhaul, with new destination, more departure options, increased frequency on some routes

Etihad Airways has announced a network redesign that would include additional destinations, more departure options, and higher frequency on select flights. One of the ways the new timetables benefit Abu Dhabi tourism is that departures are set at 2pm, giving guests enough time to experience the emirate's attractions before their checkout time.

Etihad has already launched nine new destinations this year, including Malaga, Mykonos, Lisbon, Kolkata, St. Petersburg, Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, Osaka, and Boston. In addition, the airline announced this week two additional routes to India, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, which would begin service in January 2024. In addition to these advances, Etihad has implemented a number of recent network upgrades to improve travel alternatives and connectivity. Among the highlights are:

Improved departure times: Adjusted departure times for European and Asian destinations improved customer convenience.

Increased frequency: Increased frequencies to Chennai, Islamabad, Kochi, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Rome, and Phuket provide more options for passengers.

Cairo will receive an additional five flights per week beginning January 1, 2024.

On the route to Colombo, seven direct flights per week have been introduced, with three flights beginning on December 1, 2023 and four flights beginning on January 1, 2024.

An extra seven flights per week will be offered to Maldives, with three flights beginning on December 1, 2023 and four beginning on January 1, 2024.
