Etihad Airways and Air France-KLM Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance collaboration opportunities

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Etihad Airways and Air France-KLM Group to improve potential for collaboration in the areas of passenger operations, loyalty programmes, talent development, and maintenance. Arik De, the chief revenue officer of Etihad Airways, and Angus Clarke, the executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Air France-KLM, attended the signing event, which took place at the Air France-KLM Group's headquarters in Paris.

Etihad and Air France-KLM are thinking about expanding their 2012 codeshare and interline agreements through this alliance. For travel beginning in the winter 2023 season, more than 40 additional routes encompassing locations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Australia are now open for booking as a first step.

The MoU also suggests giving Flying Blue and Etihad Guest frequent passengers access to Air France, KLM, and Etihad to earn and redeem points. Along with other projects, the airlines will investigate terminal co-location, reciprocal lounge access, and ground handling.

Beginning on October 29, Air France will begin running daily flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Abu Dhabi International Airport.
