Employees who had signed up for mandatory insurance against job loss are qualified to receive monthly cash benefits

Some UAE citizens are now qualified to receive monthly financial compensation if they lose their employment, according to reports. Those employees who had signed up for the mandatory insurance against job loss when it first became available in January 2023 are eligible to receive the compensation. For these workers to continue receiving financial protection against losing their jobs, they must also "immediately" renew their insurance. 

One requirement for filing a compensation claim is that the applicant must have been a member of the ILOE programme for a minimum of 12 months.  "Claimants must log in via the ILOE website, click on'submit a claim,' enter their Emirates ID and valid UAE phone number, and proceed with the steps to submit a claim" in order to make a compensation claim.

Claimants must prove that they were not fired for disciplinary grounds and that they did not resign. Within 30 days of the day the labour relationship was terminated, they must file the claim. If they emigrate or choose a new employment, they are not eligible for reimbursement. The employee must provide the document of dismissal, which details the date and cause for unemployment, with the claim.

Within two weeks of the claim being made, the insurance company must deposit the compensation amount into the insured's account. Payment of the compensation will begin on the day the claimant loses their job. This will continue for three months or, if they find employment elsewhere, whichever happens first.

60% of the average basic pay in the six months prior to unemployment is used to compute the amount. A single claim may only get a maximum benefit of three months. An employee's insurance certificate is deemed cancelled if they reach the maximum claim limit.
