Emirates is to launch a new daily service from Dubai to Montréal, starting July 5

Emirates said on Monday that it will begin a new daily service on July 5 from Dubai to Montréal. Emirates now has a second gateway in Canada, adding Montréal to its passenger flights to Toronto, which have been running to the provincial capital of Ontario since 2007.

The opening of flights to Montréal coincides with efforts by the UAE and Canada to strengthen their bilateral economic ties, encourage positive effects on the aviation and tourism industries, as well as to improve trade and business ties.

The daily flights to the new location will provide travellers additional options when travelling to Canada and assist meet the enormous demand for direct flights between Dubai and Canada, especially to its two main urban centres.

The Middle East and North Africa's main export market for Canada is the United Arab Emirates. Over the previous five years, bilateral trade between Canada and the UAE increased by 53%, surpassing C$2.6 billion (Dh7.05 billion) in 2022. The expected value of the UAE's foreign direct investments in Canada in 2021 was C$1.3 billion, per Statistics Canada.

According to Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism, Canada is one of the top 20 source markets for inbound tourism, with 158,000 Canadian visitors expected in 2022 (more than twice as many as in 2021).

The daily flights between Dubai and Montréal will fly as EK243/244 and be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER with 304 seats in economy class, 42 lie-flat seats in business class, and eight first class suites.
