Emirates Airlines have started a new service wherein travellers can book their preferred meal choice up to 14 days ahead of their flight. The Dubai-based airline said on Tuesday that meal preordering will be available beginning July 25 in Business Class on all flights between Dubai and London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and London Stansted.
In addition to improving the customer experience, the new project is designed to enhance time management, reduce food waste, and provide further knowledge about passengers' meal consumption on board.
Meal preordering will be added to the existing suite of AI-enabled customer preference monitoring data and cabin crew reports, which aid in menu planning and optimal food loading in order to offer the premium restaurant in the sky' in-flight eating experience. Passengers will be able to explore the onboard menu on emirates.com or the Emirates app up to 14 days before a flight and pick from a range of regionally inspired meals made using locally sourced ingredients. If necessary, passengers can also pre-order customised meals.
