The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Swaidan Trading Company have inked an agreement that calls for the testing of an environmentally friendly hydrogen bus in Dubai.
The hydrogen-fueled buses will undergo testing on the emirate's metropolitan highways to ensure they are appropriate for the local climate. The production and distribution of hydrogen fuel will be tested for possible obstacles and opportunities in collaboration with hydrogen provider ENOC and other partners.
Long-distance transportation on these buses will be powered by hydrogen. Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA's Public Transport Agency, stated that "they represent a sustainable future for transportation in terms of technology and environmental impact."
Fuel cells manufactured by Zhongtong Bus Holding Co. Ltd. in China are installed in the hydrogen bus, according to Bahrozyan.
Bahrozyan and the company's managing director, Swaidan Al Naboodah, signed the deal.
