e-scooters and e-bikes are prohibited in the JBR community to enhance the safety of residents and visitors

To improve resident and guest safety, all e-scooters and e-bikes are currently forbidden in the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) neighbourhood. Dubai Community Management affirmed that the goal of this move is to guarantee a safer atmosphere and avoid mishaps.

There are restrictions on battery-operated mobility devices on The Walk's plaza and ground floors. There are signs posted conspicuously in the region in both Arabic and English that have the symbols for e-bikes and e-scooters crossed out.

The RTA and Dubai Police tested a robot equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) to identify infractions made by people riding bicycles and electric scooters along Jumeirah 3 beach in March.

The robot was employed to detect several infractions, such as disregarding personal safety precautions including donning helmets, parking scooters in unauthorised places, having many riders on e-scooters, and operating them in areas designated only for pedestrians. Although inattentive riders have not yet received any fines, infractions can result in fines of up to Dh300.
