This session was part of the debut of the Dubai Urban Design Platform, an AI-powered platform designed to show locals how urban environments can be changed. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, oversaw the platform's activation in June during the AI retreat.
The workshop, which drew participants from over 20 different age groups, split the attendees into two groups. Every group talked about different elements that the park might have. First, before starting a long debate over what should and shouldn't be included, everyone jotted down different thoughts on sticky notes.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) coordinated the workshop in collaboration with Furjan Dubai, Dubai Municipality, the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning, and others.
The event, which was held in the Umm Suqeim majlis, assisted the participants in exploring the platform's numerous features. They looked at its possibilities for creating urban areas and public squares, selecting the best concepts and designs to be used in upcoming projects by the Dubai Municipality. Users were instructed to imagine pocket parks, sustainable squares, plazas, urban gardens, sustainable streets, urban oases, and waterways in a number of different locations.
