Dubai snow run: The event attracted 600 running enthusiasts from more than 55 nationalities

Residents and nationals of the UAE were spotted enjoying most of the Sunday morning as they skied down Ski Dubai's slopes in -40°C while travelling through snowy landscapes.

Despite the sweltering July weather outside, participants were spotted putting on heavy coats, hats, and gloves before entering the snow park. They were also observed wearing winter running shoes.

At the Mall of the Emirates (MOE), Ski Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council collaborated to host this year's DXB Snow Run, the first snow sports event to ever go place after a lockdown.

600 runners from more than 55 different countries attended the event, travelling all the way from Ras al Khaimah in the north to Abu Dhabi in the south to take part in the race that was hosted at what is known as the World's Best Indoor Ski Resort.

Rich Zielinski won the men's 3km in 00.15.01, while overall winner of the women's 3km was Karis Brown with a time of amazing 00.16.37. After completing five laps of Ski Dubai in 00.28.41 for the Women's 5km event, Ann Wanjohi won. Mohammed Al Hassani won the Men's 5km with a timing of 00.20.38. Block20, a fitness centre from Umm Al Quwain, won the inaugural A Team category this year with an average time of 00.53.59.
