Taking a significant step towards sustainability, a Dubai school has introduced a state-of-the-art ‘food-to-fertiliser machine’ on its campus.
The composter at Dubai American Academy (DAA) processes leftover food — including fruits, vegetables, and other edible waste — from the school cafeteria, converting it into nutrient-dense compost. This initiative helps the school minimize its carbon footprint and actively promotes an eco-friendly, green lifestyle.
This innovative system also supports Dubai Municipality’s target of reducing food waste by 50 per cent by the year 2030.
