Dubai's temporary winter camping season begins on October 21 and continues till April 2025

Authorities said on Thursday that the brief winter camping season in Dubai would start on October 21 and last until the end of April 2025. This season, families and individuals may experience "Dubai's unique desert landscape" in a "secure and well-equipped" setting at the Al Aweer temporary campgrounds, which are set to open in the colder months. 

During the camping season, a weekly permission price of 44 fils per square meter is required for a maximum area of 400sqm per camp. This gives permits for a minimum of three months and a maximum of six months.

The Dubai Municipality has established specific zones for commerce, wherein nearby enterprises can submit applications to provide camping goods and associated services.

Applicants will get permits from the government that specify the limits and prerequisites for setting up camp. As long as they follow safety guidelines and restrict their activities to camping and family-friendly gatherings, permit holders can set up their sites inside the designated area. Unauthorised usage or constructions built outside the parameters of the permission are prohibited, and camps must be enclosed.

Camping areas are prohibited from using fireworks. Additional safety regulations include following public health and safety guidelines, keeping the area tidy, using fire extinguishers as required, limiting cycling speeds to 20 km/h in the camping area, and forbidding loudspeakers and flashlights. 

The Dubai Building Permit System, Dubai Now app, and Dubai Municipality website are the places where applications may be submitted.
