The Road and Transport Authority of Dubai will now operate car technical testing facilities on a 24/7 basis, including on Sundays.
Following a fruitful two-month trial phase in the Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, this action was taken on April 30. Four additional centres will be added to the programme.
According to Ahmed Mahboub, Director of Vehicle Licencing, Licencing Agency, RTA, the technical testing service will now always be accessible on Sundays, and its reach has been expanded to include testing locations connected to ENOC Tasjeel facilities in Al Aweer, Al Tawar, AutoPro Al Mankhool, and AutoPro Al Satwa. the measure was made in response to the service's increasing demand during the trial period, when the average number of transactions on Sundays reached 234 technical tests.
"The initiative was introduced on a trial basis in two centres, namely Tasjeel's Used Car Market Centre and Al Mutakamela Vehicles Testing & Registration Centre, from 2pm to 10pm for two months."
"A research was commissioned to evaluate the initiative's effect on the general public, the level of demand, and the degree of benefit realised. The study's favourable findings led to approval of the initiative's permanent use on Sundays and an expansion of service provider centres.
In addition to testing for transfer, registration, export, and renewal of vehicle registration, these facilities also examine vintage cars, Mahboub said in his conclusion.
