Dubai's RTA is calling on motorists to prioritize the maintenance and inspection of their vehicles

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) urged drivers to prioritize vehicle maintenance and inspections as the summer season draws near. The RTA highlights that having well-maintained cars is essential for guaranteeing road safety and lowering the chance of traffic accidents brought on by mechanical breakdowns, given the anticipated rise in road travel during this time.

The RTA suggests that drivers thoroughly inspect several important features of their cars. Among them are:

- Cooling Systems: Check the air conditioning and radiator systems' efficiency.

- Tyres: Check for damage, tread wear, and appropriate inflation.

- Oils and Fluids: Inspect the levels of the cooling, braking, engine, and windscreen washer fluids.

- Leaks: Search for any indications of water or oil leaks.

- Batteries: Check for corrosion or leaks and test for charge.

- Brakes: Verify that there are no odd sounds or delays and that they are operating as intended.

- Lights and Wipers: Verify that every lights and also the wipers are in good working order.

In order to support these efforts, the RTA and the Ministry of Interior have collaborated to establish a comprehensive awareness campaign as part of the "Safe Summer" project  The purpose of this campaign is to raise public awareness of the value of routine auto maintenance, particularly when the temperature rises. The project includes posting educational messages on social media and putting them up at malls, driving schools, customer service departments, and auto dealerships.
