Dubai’s RTA builds new service stations that will be able to host 120 to 200 heavy vehicles

As part of its most recent initiative, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is building additional service stations. Heavy vehicle drivers will have access to three locations with diesel-refuelling stations, motels, repair workshops, restaurants, administrative buildings, prayer rooms, driving training centres, clinics, pharmacies, exchange stores, laundry, and other support services and amenities.

One of the service station locations will be on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, close to the Jebel Ali Free Zone and Al Maktoum International Airport. It covers 100,000 square metres and can accommodate 200 vehicles. The second will be located on Emirates Road, opposite Al Tayy Racecourse, and will be 76,000 square metres in size, with a capacity of 150 vehicles. Truckers will be able to use the third one, located at the entrance to Dubai Industrial City (DIC) and with a capacity of roughly 120 trucks.

Furthermore, the RTA is building 16 truck rest stations in six major areas around Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Emirates Road, Dubai-Hatta Road, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Jebel Ali - Lehbab Road, and Al Aweer Road. It's all in an effort to improve truck drivers' safety and well-being as they travel around the UAE.
