News EventThe Dubai Media Office revealed on Tuesday that the Metro Music Festival in Dubai will make a comeback in September, taking place across five main metro stations. The festival's fourth edition will run from September 21 to September 27.
Every day, five main metro stations—Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman, Union, and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre—will have performances from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Over the course of the festival, all performances will alternate to cover each of the five stations.
Twenty exceptional musicians from the UAE and throughout the world will enthrall spectators with their regular performances, bringing stations to life.
This year's featured instruments include the Qanun (a type of string instrument), drums, accordion, flute, violin, saxophone, piano, balafon, darbuka, keytar, marimba, and various other percussion instruments from across the globe. In addition, there will be performances by musicians on handpans, pipe drum, electric guitar, and homemade instruments.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Brand Dubai, the creative branch of the Government of Dubai Media Office, are collaborating to organize the event.
A wide variety of traditional and avant-garde musicians, from classical performances to cutting-edge fusion acts, will be included during the festival. Passengers will be treated to a diverse range of musical genres as performers display their prowess on a range of instruments, such as wind, percussion, string, and original works fashioned from commonplace items.
In addition, there will be beatboxing demonstrations, a live music puppet show, and a lively exhibition of world rhythms.
The festival, which is geared at children, will include a special drumming performance with kids and visually striking drumming acts that use light effects.
