Dubai RTA has started operating mobility stations for bikes and e-scooters at 11 sites along a 9km route in Hatta

News"Mobility stations" for bikes and e-scooters have been initiated by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai which will be operating at 11 sites along the 9km route in Hatta. The global micro-mobility provider, Lime has facilitated a variety of soft mobility means like bikes, mountain bikes, and e-scooters, at these stations.
In order to offer a variety of alternatives for personal mobility experiences that keep up with the region's continuing innovations, the RTA is enthusiastic to create soft mobility solutions in Hatta. Due to its distinctive geographic position, environmental and cultural variety, and abundance of entertainment alternatives that meet the demands of the local population, Hatta is a well-liked destination for tourists.
The trial phase of running bike and e-scooter stations had huge participation from various community sectors throughout the first quarter of 2023. A total of 1,902 journeys were tallied in the first quarter, of which 984 were made on e-scooters and the remaining 918 on bicycles and mountain bikes. According to statistics, 93% of customers were happy with the services at that time.
By renting bikes, e-scooters, and mountain bikes, tourists and locals may explore Hatta's stunning scenery and steep terrain. The mobility station has about 250 e-scooters, 250 bicycles, and 150 mountain bikes that may be rented. The stations are located at 11 sites - the Hatta Heritage Village, next to Wadi Hatta Park, Hatta Hill Park, the public bus station, and Hatta Valley.
