Dubai Police will install silent radars in residential neighborhoods to monitor traffic violations

The Dubai Police will install "silent radars" in residential neighborhoods. These devices are referred to as "silent" because they don't flash like conventional radars do. According to a senior official, they are intended to identify more than just speeding infractions, with the goal of motivating drivers to uphold appropriate safety procedures including fastening seatbelts and avoiding cell phone use while driving.

Behavioral fines are always verified twice before being applied according to the government.

In addition to two side lanes, the radars placed on Dubai's roadways are able to track six major lanes on a highway. They are able to read license plates and determine whether they are hidden or covered in any way.

Even in situations when one car partially obscures another, these advanced gadgets are still able to identify infractions like speeding.

Not only do these cutting-edge radars keep an eye on Dubai's roadways, but the Dubai Police Command Control Center's enormous screens also do the same. 

Drivers are being actively reminded by the Dubai Police Awareness Department of the need of keeping a safe following distance, and infractions can result in fines of up to Dh400. 

The authorities have emphasized that maintaining everyone's safety on the roadways is the primary objective of these sophisticated systems, not only imposing fines. 

The police admitted that many motorists tend to slow down when they see one of these radars in the area. Catching drivers in the act of speeding is not the authority's major concern, though; it is keeping drivers at a steady and safe speed.
