NewsDubai began using drones officially to carry packages and medications on Tuesday. Keeta Drone has been granted the first license by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) to transport goods in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DS), initially using six drones. The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) granted the first licensee operator in Dubai's program to facilitate drone transportation during a signing ceremony on Tuesday.
To enable quick delivery of food, medication, and other necessities, four drone delivery routes were launched at Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), catering to important sites like Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT-Dubai) and Dubai Digital Park.
In partnership with Americana, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Fakeeh University Hospital, Keeta Drone is investigating the potential for broader drone applications, including as emergency services and urgent medical deliveries.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), placed the first order using the drone delivery system through the platform from the Rochester Institute of Technology-Dubai (RIT-Dubai), one of the landing points within DSO's drone delivery network, following the launch of the first-of-its-kind drone delivery system in the Middle East at Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO). One of the community's take-off locations successfully delivered the order.
