Dubai Municipality to set up two new community markets for labourers and renovate an existing one

The Dubai Municipality is going to remodel an existing community market and open two new ones for labourers. This was unveiled alongside a thorough development plan for community markets in work zones by the civic council. There will be two new markets built in Muhaisanah 2 and Al Quoz 3. The first will be 16,000 square feet in size. Al Quoz 4's current 14,000-square-foot market will be renovated.

Ready-to-eat food, fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, clothing, shoes, fragrances, gadgets and cell phones, barbers, and tailors are all available at the markets. Products are offered at reasonable prices to serve the working class, and regulatory bodies make sure they follow all food safety, health, and safety regulations.

After a long day in the office, employees congregate at the markets to relax. Many people often visit the one in Al Quoz 4 to play snooker and carom for less than Dh10. Local businesses provide free recreational, athletic, health, and community events for workers at these markets.

In 2022, the first licenced market within a labour zone was established by the Dubai Municipality and police. By creating a specific retail area for labourers, the action assisted in the eradication of illicit pop-up markets.
