Dubai Municipality has launched its Promoting Healthy Nutrition in Educational Institutions initiative

To assist educational institutions all around Dubai in changing their attitude to school meals and providing students with healthy food alternatives in canteens and cafeterias, the Dubai Municipality has established the "Promoting Healthy Nutrition in Educational Institutions" programme. The programme intends to assist more than 300,000 kids in the emirate's schools.

The programme integrates an empowerment and learning management system for students in schools. It also emphasises food providers and school administrations or departments.

The platform provides a full, mobile-friendly digital learning experience. It features e-content on nutrition, food safety, sustainable consumption, and interactive games and tools to measure learning progress. Both staff members of food corporations and teachers can utilise these resources to educate their students. Dubai Municipality will guarantee that schools can effectively use these technologies by offering a specialist training session for users in 2024.

In an effort to determine the relationship between dietary decisions, health, and the environment, Dubai Municipality hosted several engaging talks, seminars, and events. Experts in environmental sciences and nutrition collaborated on the sessions. Furthermore, the sessions aimed to include a representative sample from all types of educational establishments in the Dubai emirate, such as universities, schools, and nursery schools.
