Dubai Metro is getting upgraded with an entirely new line, the Dubai Metro Blue Line

The Red and Green Lines will be joined by a brand-new route called the Dubai Metro Blue Line. The 30-kilometer-long Blue line will link the current Red and Green lines.

Notably, 15.5 km of the new Metro Lines will be underground and 14.5 km above ground, in contrast to the existing Metro Lines. It is believed that there will be 14 stations along the route, with five being subterranean and seven being raised.

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has sent out a notice asking contractors to indicate interest in working on the new design and coconstruction indicating that the authority is eager to get things going.

Although the project is only getting started, Dubai residents utilising public transit will undoubtedly find this to be wonderful news.

Green Line stations are now located in Deira's old town and Bur Dubai.

In the southwest, the Red Line links Expo 2020, Dubai Marina, Downtown, and the old city and airport.

Although it was announced in October of last year that the Red and Green Lines will be expanded, this is the first time that information on a Blue Line has been made public.
