Dubai Metro Blue Line project will commence this year with the inclusion of 14 stations

NewsThe Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Sunday that construction of the 14-station Dubai Metro Blue Line project, which will connect important parts of Dubai, will begin this year and include three interchange stations.
"The Dubai Metro Blue Line project is scheduled to begin construction in 2024. It will cover a distance of 30 km, of which 15.5 km will be underground and 14.5 km above ground," stated Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, RTA. He said this while disclosing the 702 million ridership estimates for 2023 for shared mobility, taxis, and public transport, of which 62% were public bus and Dubai Metro passengers.
According to Al Tayer, the Dubai Metro Blue Line project was designed to accommodate the one million people that the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040 projects will live in the surrounding districts.
