Dubai International retains its title as the busiest airport for international flights in July 2023

According to OAG, Dubai International (DXB) will remain the busiest airport for international flights in July 2023. The airport attained 19% greater international capacity with 4.9 million passengers than the second busiest international airport, London Heathrow (LHR), with 4.1 million seats. Seats per day at Dubai (DXB) climbed by 2% over the previous month, while London Heathrow (LHR) increased by 1%.

This remarkable success was maintained in the first quarter of 2023, above forecasts. As a result, Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths stated that the traffic prediction for 2023 has been revised upward to 83.6 million passengers, putting DXB within striking distance of our 2019 annual traffic. Passenger volumes at Dubai International Airport exceeded 21.2 million in the first quarter of the year, representing 95.6% of 2019 levels.

Amsterdam (AMS), which is placed third, has added 3% more seats each day than the previous month. London Gatwick (LGW) gained the most seats this month, 263,710, or 9% more seats per day than the previous month. Doha (DOH) and Seoul Incheon (ICN) both gained 7% more seats each day compared to last month and are ranked eighth and ninth, respectively.
