NewsDubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 2 has announced launching a brand-new spacious lounge. The world's first specialised lounge for persons of determination, the Assisted Travel Lounge is a special place with carefully considered amenities tailored to their requirements.
Entering this serene area, visitors are welcomed by an abundance of space that is suitable for wheelchairs and has ingenious design elements such as contrasting surfaces to aid individuals with vision impairments. Here, chairs are arranged in close proximity to employees to make it easier for those with hearing impairments to communicate. A very calm "stress relief area" has been created exclusively for autistic individuals.
Even the youngest passengers will feel secure and at ease because there is a special area reserved for unaccompanied youngsters.
As part of a wider multi-million dirham commitment to improve accessibility across all terminals, this lounge is the result of a cooperation between Dubai Airports and dnata.
Under its inclusive policy for people of determination, DXB has launched a number of activities in addition to this new lounge. The "sunflower ribbon program" is one example of this, which enables these visitors to be subtly recognised for priority assistance during their trip. Imagine quicker security checks and accelerated travel procedures.
The lounge is anticipated to be accessible from Monday, September 30 to travellers with autism spectrum disorders and to people of determination.
