In 2023, Dubai hosted almost 17 million foreign tourists. The Crown Prince of Dubai, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, stated on X, previously Twitter, that this amounted to a 19.4% increase in Dubai tourist numbers over the previous year.
The previous high was reached by 16.73 million unique visits in 2019. Dubai's hotel occupancy rate reached 77.4% in 2023.
Dubai's increasing popularity is hardly shocking, considering that it was listed as one of the safest places for foreigners to reside in 2023. Additionally, it was selected the best of the best in Tripadvisor's annual visitors' choice awards earlier this year.
