Dubai flying taxis arriving by the end of next year will take off from four key points in the city

NewsThe flights of the Dubai flying taxis are scheduled to begin from four strategic locations throughout the city by the end of next year. The air taxi, a joint venture between JOBY Aviation, Skyports Infrastructure, and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, is poised to revolutionise public transportation.
After the aircraft testing is over, Dubai will have its air transportation system, making it the world's first metropolis of its kind.
As per RTA’s announcement on September 17, the first of four vertiports will be operating in the first quarter of 2026.
The initial four vertiports—which enable taxis to land and take off vertically—will be situated in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, Dubai Downtown, and Dubai International Airport.
As the RTA stated on Tuesday, September 18, the first of these four would begin operations in early 2026.
Although it will take about a third of the time it would take to get across the city in a car, the aim is for tickets to be no more expensive than an Uber Black journey. It will be able to travel at up to 200 miles per hour while carrying a pilot and four passengers. It will just take a few minutes at the vertiport to board and exit the air taxi.
