The tennis championship in Dubai has resumed in full force. Several of the world's top players squared off in the women's division last week, with Italian outsider Jasmine Paolini emerging victorious to claim her maiden WTA 1000 championship. Andrey Rublev, the runner-up from last year, Andy Murray, the champion from 2017, and reigning champion Daniil Medvedev will all be participating this week on the men's circuit.
There are still tickets available for the competition, with costs ranging from Dhs60 in the early stages to Dhs580 in the more premium seats as it gets closer.
The Irish Village, located near the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Stadium in Garhoud, is where all the action is taking place. The GGICO metro station is conveniently close to the stadium, and there is a complimentary shuttle service that runs from the station.
All holders of tournament tickets are also eligible for a complimentary park-and-ride service to and from the venue.
The WTA and ATP competitions, which take place back-to-back on Sunday, February 18, and Saturday, March 2, respectively, have long drawn a top-tier field of competitors.
The 24th annual WTA event will take place one week before the ATP event in 2024, and it will precede the men's competition at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
The women's competition took place from February 18 to 24 before the 32nd ATP Tour 500 tournament, which took place from February 26 to March 2. This year is the first time that the women’s tournament in Dubai has been made a permanent fixture on the WTA calendar.
