NewsJust twenty days following the commencement of building activities, Dubai-based Nakheel has hailed the completion of the 3D printing process for the Al Furjan Hills project. The first licence for building construction utilising 3D printing technology was granted to Nakheel for the Al Furjan Hills project in December 2023 by the Planning and Development Department, Trakhees, the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC)'s regulating authority.
Bin Sulayem emphasised Trakhees' contribution to the advancement of 3D printing technology in Dubai's building industry. To do this, the department collaborated with a number of important organisations, he added. According to him, integrating 3D printing technology is essential to promoting innovation, cutting-edge technology, and a knowledge-based economy—all of which are in accordance with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
In addition, he said, Trakhees has been committed to granting licences and guaranteeing legal observance in order to assist the emirate's strategic goal of having 25% of its structures built with 3D printing technology by 2030.
