Dubai announces temporary closure of public parks and night swimming at beaches due to bad weather

Residents in the UAE are encouraged to exercise additional caution as rains that fell across the nation over the weekend are predicted to continue in the coming days, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Since Friday, when torrential rain and hailstorm hit Al Ain, the country has been subjected to severe weather. Showers, thunder, and dust storms affected various sections of Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman on Saturday. Heavy rain was observed at Al Barsha, Al Marmoom, and Al Barari, as well as along Emirates Road, Al Qudra Road, and the Jebel Ali-Lehbab and Al Ain-Dubai highways.

On account of the bad weather conditions, residents are urged to take precautions for safety. Moreover, Dubai Municipality has announced the temporary closure of parks and beaches for the same reason.

Public Parks:

The Dubai Municipality has ordered the temporary closure of public parks beginning today, Sunday, at 6 p.m. The measure is in keeping with the current meteorological conditions in the emirate. Residents are encouraged to use caution.

Beaches: On Sunday, the Dubai Municipality ordered a temporary ban on night swimming at beaches. The law goes into effect at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

The decision was made as a precaution against the emirate's present volatile weather. The authorities tweeted that residents' safety is the foremost priority during this time.
