Two renowned worldwide safety awards have been given to Dubai Airports, the operator of Dubai worldwide (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC).
The operator received two awards from the British Safety Council: the International Safety Award 2023 with "merit" rating and a "Silver" Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, UK (RoSPA) award.
The two awards were given to Dubai Airport in appreciation of its dedication to excellence in health and safety, as well as the efficiency and sturdiness of its health and safety management system in 2022.
Our first aim is to provide a safe, secure, and effective environment for our visitors, staff, and stakeholders, said Majed Al Joker, chief operating officer of Dubai Airports. We are honoured to have received these two outstanding awards since they demonstrate the importance we place on these goals and our dedication to achieving them. We'll keep pushing for superior performance in this area.
The RoSPA Health & Safety award evaluates each company's occupational health and safety management system, with important factors like senior leadership involvement, examination of accident and illness records for both employees and contractors, and consistent application of safety management systems and policies.
The main occupational health and safety awards series in the UK is the RoSPA awards. The awards, which are now in their 67th year, receive approximately 2,000 entries each year from a total of over seven million employees across nearly 50 different nations. The prize will be formally given out on May 4 at a ceremony in Dubai.
The prize will be formally bestowed in May 2023 during a spectacular dinner ceremony in London.
The International Safety Awards celebrate an organisation's dedication to high standards of health, safety, and wellness management in 12 categories.
