Drivers who do not yield to emergency vehicles risk severe consequences

Authorities in the UAE have reminded drivers of the significance of yielding to emergency vehicles. The Ministry of Interior claims that 325 drivers received fines in 2024 for not yielding to emergency responders such as police patrols and ambulances.

Additionally, the Ministry emphasized that in order to get to people in need as soon as possible, emergency services rely on clean roads. Serious repercussions and even death may result from delays.

Drivers who do not yield to emergency vehicles risk severe consequences, such as six traffic points, a 30-day car confiscation, and a Dh 3,000 fine. All users of the road are affected by this, regardless of whether the emergency vehicle is approaching from another lane, behind, or beside them.
