Distance learning system to be extended for private schools in the emirate for Monday

The emergency, crisis, and disaster management team of Sharjah has decided to prolong the emirate's private schools' remote learning program through Monday, April 22. This is to make sure that following the extreme weather that hit the United Arab Emirates on April 16, schools and the surrounding areas are prepared to welcome students and faculty. Public safety is given priority in this decision, especially because the emirate proclaimed a state of emergency in order to properly handle the crisis.

Prior to this, students experiencing logistical difficulties as a result of the recent extreme weather in the United Arab Emirates were asked to continue their distance learning at all private schools, universities, and daycare centers in Dubai.

As facilities are ready to welcome students once more, Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) cautioned institutions to exercise prudence on Sunday.

The first stage, according to the Sharjah emergency, crisis, and disaster management team, is to make sure that schools and the surrounding community are prepared to accept kids and faculty members following the unexpected weather.

Due to the unprecedented downpour that occurred last week from late Monday through Tuesday night, some neighborhoods in Dubai are still seriously impacted. Numerous highways are flooded and swamped with houses. Metro and bus transportation services are still impacted.

On April 16, all educational institutions, including schools, made the switch to remote learning. The KHDA tweeted this after the Crown Prince of Dubai announced that all private schools, nurseries, and colleges in the emirate would provide distance learning.

Some Dubai schools have informed parents that classes will resume on Monday. They have also stated that they will continue to be "flexible" and provide remote learning to pupils who are unable to attend.

Support personnel in Dubai schools put in a tonne of overtime and even spent the night in the classrooms in order to get the establishments ready for the return of the kids. In order to make sure that schools are ready for students to arrive, housekeeping workers were observed resolving waterlogging problems, patching leaks, and maintaining electrical supplies.
