Dibba Al Hisn Fort, Fili Fort and Wadi Shees in Sharjah has been added to the Islamic World Heritage List

It was announced on Wednesday that the Sharjah emirate's Dibba Al Hisn Fort, Fili Fort, and Wadi Shees had been added to the Islamic World Heritage List. The Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO) has added the sites to the List in honour of their cultural and historical value, according to a statement made by the Sharjah Archaeology Authority (SAA).

This accomplishment highlights the significance of these locations in bolstering Islamic and cultural identity as well as their function in safeguarding history and legacy for next generations. The three Sharjah places were among the ninety-one historical sites and cultural aspects that the ICESCO Heritage Committee listed on its heritage list.

The Islamic World Heritage List now has six entries: Fili Fort, Wadi Shees, Mleiha Archaeological Site, Al Dhaid Fort and Falaj, Sharjah, the Gateway of the Trucial States, and Dibba Al Hisn Fort.
