DEWA is recognised to have the strongest commitment to environmental sustainability of any UAE brand

The Brand Finance study, which was released in April 2024, highlighted DEWA's remarkable dedication to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, solidifying its standing as the foremost organisation in the United Arab Emirates with respect to environmental sustainability perceptions. Through its Sustainability Perceptions Index, Brand Finance measures how sustainable brands are perceived to be. Studies on brand perceptions are conducted in relation to the governance, social, and environmental (ESG) facets of sustainability. The study identifies the extent to which sustainability influences brand consideration in various industries and provides information on which brands are most seen as being devoted to sustainability by consumers worldwide.

According to Brand Finance's analysis, with a 3% growth in brand value to USD1.1 billion, DEWA is the most valuable utility brand in the UAE and second in the region. DEWA's expansion reflects a strong commitment to sustainable energy generation and the growing demand for water and power.

The extensive steps DEWA has put in place to improve sustainability across all of its activities are also highlighted in the Brand Finance report. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world's biggest single-site solar park with a projected output capacity of over 5,000MW by 2030, is one of the key projects that helped earn this title.
