The development of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital is made possible by donations made through the Al Jalila Foundation, which oversees Dubai Health's charitable endeavours. The construction of the hospital spanning 56,000 square metres will be made possible by the combined efforts of people and groups.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed gratitude to all of the donors for their donations towards the hospital project, emphasising the significance of their help in securing Dubai's future as well as the future of the city's healthcare system.

The hospital is expected to have 50 clinics, 30 clinical research areas, 60 infusion rooms, 10 urgent care rooms, 5 radiation rooms, and 116 inpatient beds. It is situated in the Al Jaddaf neighbourhood. Nineteen gardens will be positioned across the hospital complex to improve the healing environment for patients and their families. The project's architect is Stantec, an international pioneer in sustainable engineering and design.

The comprehensive cancer hospital, which is a part of Dubai Health, the city's first integrated academic health system, will have access to a multidisciplinary team that includes specialised nurses, providing patients with all the care they need in one place, from treatment and supportive care to early diagnosis and treatment. A seamless and easily accessible continuum of care will be provided by offering some treatments and services to patients in the convenience of their own homes, in keeping with Dubai Health's "Patient First" pledge.
