Crown Prince of Dubai approved the portfolio of projects worth Dh 40 billion during the first meeting of The Executive Council of Dubai

Dubai has authorised a portfolio of projects totaling Dh 40 billion as part of its public-private partnership programme. During the first meeting of the Executive Council of Dubai following its reconstitution, the portfolio was authorised by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Council.

The new portfolio, which includes a wide range of initiatives, attempts to stimulate new partnerships and enhance existing ones between the emirate's public and commercial sectors.

The Director of the Department of Finance's Capital Projects Division, Muna Ahmad Abdulla, stated that the PPP environment is becoming increasingly significant for both infrastructure and economic growth. Additionally, she reaffirmed that partnership initiatives, which involve private sector investments in government infrastructure projects, boost the economy and generate employment possibilities.

A digital platform for managing projects within the PPP ecosystem was introduced by the DoF in 2023. The recently introduced digital platform, known as DP3, is dedicated to managing partnership projects that are carried out within the PPP framework at every level, including project discovery and assessment, implementation, and start-of-operations. The platform, which is a first for the globe, is applicable to government bodies that are governed by the law governing collaborations between the public and private sectors in the Emirate of Dubai.
