The Abu Dhabi Executive Council Chairman and Crown Prince, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, declared the launch of the emirate's tourism strategy. According to Abu Dhabi Tourist Strategy 2030, this will lead to the creation of over 178,000 new employees over the next six years, including direct, indirect, and induced positions. These jobs will increase the tourist sector's economic contributions in Abu Dhabi.
Establishing the emirate as one of the world's fastest-growing travel destinations, Abu Dhabi intends to boost the sector's contribution to non-oil GDP to Dh90 billion by 2030, generate 178,000 new employments, and raise yearly visitor numbers to 39.3 million.
At Zayed International Airport, the recently built terminal can handle 79 planes at once and 45 million people yearly. As demand grows, the increased capacity enables airlines to improve their presence in Abu Dhabi. The airport has been recognised as the "Best Airport at Arrivals Globally" at the 2023 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, presented by Airports Council International.
